John Lennon - Watching The Wheels (Double Fantasy)

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I'm o.k. well they look at me kind of strange
Surely you're not happy now you no longer play the game

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Ah, people asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind
I tell them there's no hurry
I'm just sitting here doing time

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go

one of my all time favorite songs. i remember it on the radio constantly after his death. being just a kid, i had no idea what it was about, i guess the melody hit me the most. my mother explained to me he had been shot. for a six year old kid, my logic was naively simple..."who would want to shoot someone who made such a great song?" at thirty-six, i still cannot come up with an answer...

Mark Chapman was a young disturbed man. He didn't have the sense to seek help. So, as one helpless to his own mental/emotional disorder he just followed whatever his disturbed reasoning led him to feel and to take some kind of action. That's all there is to it.

@humilisproeliator No, the people are wrong for killing. Everyone has a right to be them and try to help.

a revolutionary with a rolls-royce brother, agree with you in almost anything but he was not only a musical genius, at that time just IMAGINE doing love instead of war, giving peace a chance was revolutionary in all senses so... Rest In Peace, and mourder, are very short terms to what his life was about, a life greater than a few houses and a rolls-royce
