I agree. There is a lot more to the Kinks' music than meets the eye. For instance, in "Rosie won't you please come home?" Ray sings a note which makes a minor third of the chord, thus introducing a bluesy feel which others never recapture. And the Davies brothers are always intermixing instruments and voices to create harmonies; two notes with guitars and one or two others with voices. These subtleties are always overlooked. And when people try and copy the Kinks they can never get it right

Sittin on the Sofa has got one killer rythm line in it, cool piano & guitar riffs,it's just all irresistible as a tune. Don't know why this never became an absolute classic compared to say lola, waterloo sunset etc....

Eddie Van Halen Loved The Kinks, he covered two of their songs. Why do so may VH fans bash the Kinks? In the early 60's nobody rocked harder than The Kinks. Lets keep it in proper perspective.
